ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court granted a plea of former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf for exemption from presence in the court in Rental Power Projects case, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
As the hearing of the case started today, former prime minister's lawyer Farooque H. Naik informed Judge Muhammad Bashir that his client could not appear before the court adding that an application for the exemption from presence has been submitted in the court.
The court granted the plea of Ashraf for exemption from presence in the court hearing.
The judge later adjourned the hearing till March 07.
Talking to media after the court hearing, Farooque Naik said that the cross-examination of the prosecution witnesses has been completed. He said, he will appear in the court hearing instead of his client.
