KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday took police to task for overlooking court orders and not releasing pillion riders on personal bonds, ARY News reported.

The court has sent police a show cause notice for overlooking clear orders by registering cases against the pillion riders. Court has barred from registering FIRs on violating Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The SHC has released the people, who were arrested over pillion riding, on Rs5000 personal bond.

This should be noted that pillion riding has been banned in the megapolis since Oct 08 evening and would continue until Oct 13. Over 500 people were arrested in just two days in the city.

The ban has been imposed viewing security for the mourning processions of Muharram.
