LAHORE: A local court released Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal on bail after he submitted guarantees of Rs. 1 lac here on Sunday, ARY News reports.
Umar Akmal was arrested for a scuffle with a traffic warden near Firdous Market at Gulberg Area yesterday.
Speaking to media outside the court, he said that a judicial inquiry should be held of the incident and background of the issue should be brought in the open. He said that he was manhandled by the traffic police official.
CTO Lahore said that the law should be same for national heroes and the common citizen. "Umar Akmal violated the law", he said.
