According to rescue officials, the injured worker was transferred to a hospital. A crane collided with an 11,000 KV wire which caused the deaths of workers Ghulam Shabbir and Muhammad Anwar on the spot. Sajjad, another worker, was severely injured as a result of being electrocuted and was shifted to Jinnah Hospital. The injured and deceased workers are related to each other, since they all belong to Narowal.
The deceased Ghulam Shabbir and the injured Sajjad are brothers whereas Mohammad Anwar was their cousin. Residents of the area disclosed that during work on the Orange Line train project, no precautionary measures were taken. They were of the view that the government should take care of the area’s residents and workers.
