LONDON: Cricketer Imad Wasim has refuted rumours that he married or has promised to marry a fan in London.
Earlier some pictures of the cricketer with an unknown female has surfaced on social media spreading rumours that that Afghan-origin girl reportedly met Wasim in London and that the cricketer had promised to marry her.
“A fan took pictures with me and then people claimed that I got married to her,” he said in video message on Twitter. “Then another picture surfaced (with another fan) and people said that she was my girlfriend and I was cheating on her.”
Wasim denied all allegations leveled against him and said he was ‘completely single’ and never promised to marry anyone.
He also urged the media not be spread such sensationalism and to respect his family and privacy.
“I request media channels to not spread such rumours,” he said. “Please respect my family and my privacy.” he pleaded.
“I have never made a video to refute any allegations (leveled against me) before, but I have been compelled to do so this time around.”
He requested media channels to not defame anyone by running unverified news.
