CTD arrests suspected Taliban, LeJ activists from Karachi

KARACHI: Four suspects affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were arrested from Karachi on Sunday, ARY News reports.

SSP Usman Bajwa, in a presser, said that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police carried out a raid at Chamra Chowrangi in Karachi and arrested four suspects affiliated with TTP and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

He added that ammunition and hand grenades were also seized during the crackdown.

Police said that the arrested persons have confessed of carrying out bomb attacks in Nigar Cinema, Lea Market, Nayabad, Ghaas Mandi and Naagan Intersection along with killing and injuring many people in different firing incidents.

Rangers arrested 20 suspects, including members of banned organizations from different parts of Karachi including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Surjani Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Sohrab Goth, Orangi Town, Federal B. Area, Shershah, Quaidabad and Lyari.

Weapons and awan bombs were also recovered in the raids.

Six persons including a suspected targeted killer was nabbed by the law enforcement agencies from Garden whereas two alleged Lyari gangsters were arrested the cops from Mauripur.
