Current situation inviting martial law in Pakistan, claims Altaf

WASHINGTON: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said the current [political] situation was inviting martial law in the country, ARY News reported.

Addressing party’s 18th annual convention in Washington DC, Altaf appealed the participants of long march to resolve the differences with government through dialogue.

“MQM is ready to extend all-possible assistance to the participants in the Islamabad sit-in,” he said. He added that staples were distributed among the marchers.

Regarding frequent target killing in Karachi, the MQM chief said he was first to identify presence of Taliban in the provincial capital.

“Taliban are the ones who carrying out target killings in Karachi,” he said.
