Police encountered three dacoits in Nawab Town area of Lahore who opened fire on police personnel. One dacoit was killed in retaliatory fire by police while two others managed to flee.
The dacoits were stopped by police as they were driving a snatched vehicle.
The shootout also injured SP Chung Irfan Samu who was shifted to Jinnah hospital for medical treatment.
The 24 year old dacoit killed during the encounter has been identified as Ali.
