DADU: A passenger lost his life and at least 30 others sustained injuries as a passenger bus heading to Sehwan Sharif from Khairpur overturned at Dadu-Moro road on Friday.
According to rescue sources, the bus carrying pilgrims to shrine city of Sehwan Sharif from Khairpur overturned at Dadu-Moro road resulting death of a passenger and severe wounds to 30 others in the bus.
The injured include women and children who were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attendance.
The cause behind the mishap could not be ascertained till filling of this report.
A separate road mishap on November 13, had claimed lives of at least two people while 13 others were wounded when a passenger bus thrust into a gorge at Mianwali Road in Kot Qazi area of Chakwal.
The bus was en-route to Karachi from Mansehra, skid-off the bridge while taking a U-turn in Kot Qazi district which resulted in death of at least two, and severe wounds to 13 other passengers
In another fatal accident in last week, as many as eight people had lost their lives and 20 others, including children and women, were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and trailer at Indus Highway near Dadu.
According to an estimate, around 9,000 road accidents are reported every year in Pakistan, claiming more than 4,500 lives on average annually.
