Remo D’Souza’s latest film ABCD 2 has been making the headlines ever since it released. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide within the first week of its release. Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s starrer is once again in the news, but for the wrong reason. A backup dancer from ABCD 2 has been arrested for raping a 14 year-old mentally challenged girl.
Nilesh Nirbhavane, who is a dancer by profession, was arrested by the Pant Nagar Police on June 26 after he confessed to the crime of raping the fourteen year-old girl. An officer from the Pant Nagar Police station revealed that the girl was being repeatedly raped by Nilesh and his two associates for a month. The mentally challenged girl was taken to isolated places and bathrooms, where she was repeatedly raped.
A teacher noted that the girl had been behaving abnormally for a while. Upon being questioned by the teacher, it was found out that she had been raped repeatedly. The girl’s parents were informed of the assault, who launched a complaint with the Pant Nagar Police on June 25. Nilesh was called in for questioning as his two broken front teeth served as clue for the police.
After the probe was conducted by the police, Nilesh was booked under IPC sections 376D (gang rape), 377 (unnatural offences) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
