Dar approves number of major development projects across country

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday gave approval for a number of major development projects in different parts of Pakistan.

He gave approval for the projects while chairing the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting in Islamabad.

The projects include 40.8 MW Koto Hydropower Project in District Lower Dir at the estimated cost of Rs13,987.75 million, enhancing Public Private Partnerships in Pakistan (Provincial Support Project in Sindh) at the cost of Rs19,289.01 million, integration of health services delivery with special focus on Maternal, Neonatal & Child Health, Lady Health Worker, and Nutrition Programme (DFID) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the cost of Rs13,926.63 million and establishment of a children hospital in Bahawalpur at  the cost of Rs5,008.376 million.

Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program (Phase-IV) 2017-18 will cost Rs 6,196.50 million. Construction of Rathoa Haryam Bridge and Approaches Across Reservoir Channel on Mirpur –Islamgarh Road will be completed at the cost of Rs6480.159 million.

Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project (KNIP) Karachi Transformation Project (KTS) has been allotted Rs10,260.600 million.

Cost of improvement, upgradation and widening of Jaglot – Skardu Road (S-1, 164 km) has been revised to be Rs32,325.6 million.

Improvement and widening of additional 2-lanes on either side of Thokar Niaz Baig to Hudyiara Drain Multan Road N-5 (KM 10 + 170) will be carried out at the cost of Rs10,397.3million

Rs49,346 million has been allotted for Peshawar sustainable Bus Rapid Transit corridor project while Rs67,459 million will be provided for Punjab irrigated-agriculture productivity improvement project (Revised).
