Dar claims to increase tax ratio by 1 pct every year

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Finance, Ishaq Dar has said that the tax to GDP ratio in Pakistan is 9 percent, which is least in the region. He added that the tax ratio is tried to be increased by 1 percent every year – ARY News reports.

Addressing the Chief Commissioners of Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) here on Thursday, Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan has least tax to GDP ratio in the region, which is 9 percent. He vowed that the tax ratio will be increased by 1 percent every year.

Dar told that several international organizations including the World Bank have turned their backs towards Pakistan, whereas Pakistan has become the second best country for the foreign investors.

Speaking about sales tax refunds, he claimed to pay off sales tax refunds up to 10 lacs till April 15, this year.
