Dar preaches ‘patience’ to salaried class over tax relief

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government will consider providing tax relief to the salaried class in next budget, ARY News reported.

According to British news organization, the finance minister was sent a message on his cell phone with a query, “why government did not consider salaried class, but provided tax huge tax relief to investors?”

The minister replied that government would consider tax relief proposals for the salaried class in next budget.

He said provided relief to private employees lied with their organization. Government has increased the minimum wage from Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000.

The government, however, did not provide any income tax relief to public sector employees despite pay raise. The salaried class pays the maximum income tax, but relief in such a tax is still a distant dream for this segment.
