Dar urges provinces to keep prices controlled in Ramazan

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday wrote a letter to all four provinces urging the chief executives not to let prices of day-to-day commodities increase in the month of Ramazan, ARY News reported.

Dar, in his letter written to the chief ministers, inquired about surge in prices of commodities, despite the fact that federal budget had nothing that could result in hiking the rates.

He also took notice of increase in the rates of poultry (chicken) and sought an explanation from Pakistan Poultry Association in this regard. The association assured of bringing rates down within two days.

The minister urged provincial government to keep prices controlled and avoid taking measures that may result in inflation during Ramazan.
