KARACHI: In a rejoinder to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s remarks in which he deplored summon of Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz for questioning, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari has tweeted that N-League has always been above the law adding her mother was also dragged court to court, ARY News reported.

In a tweet she said: “My mother dragged court to court [and] so many of our PPP women were dragged [to court]. N-League [workers] have always been above the law.”

These remarks surfaced after a day when finance minister Ishaq Dar had said that it was ‘hurtful’ to see Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, being summoned by the JIT as she was like a daughter to him.

Talking to media on Monday, he said that if Khan’s sister’s name had also been mentioned in the documents for Niazi Services and they were summoned as Maryam was, it would hurt him too.

Requesting the Supreme Court to look into the matter, Dar had asked the JIT to revise its decision and send Maryam Nawaz a questionnaire to her house as opposed to asking her to appear before the JIT.

Following his remarks, the finance minister became a subject of criticism for his remarks.
