On this day in 2016 – Misbah did famous push-ups at Lord’s
Pakistan toured England in 2016 for the first time after spot-fixing scandal in 2010. The first Test kicked off on July 14, 2016 at Lord’s.
It was Misbah Ul Haq’s first Test at the historic ground and he achieved on his first day that many legends only desired of, getting his name on the honour’s board of Lord’s for scoring a century.
Misbah Ul Haq, Pakistan’s Test captain, played a mesmerizing inning and what he did afterward was even more magical.
The world saw a unique style of celebration, he took a single to reach his ton, then he saluted Pakistan Army as a tribute and then performed ten push-ups that astonished everyone watching the game.
It is certainly one of the best celebrations you will ever see on a cricket field.
Eventually, Pakistan won that Test match by 75 runs and then the whole team celebrated the victory, in the same manner, i.e. with a salute and performing push-ups.
