Decision on MFN status to be taken after India's election

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan said the matter to grant most-favoured nation (MFN) status to India will be decided after general elections in the neighboring country, ARY News reported Friday.

The Cabinet meeting scheduled today (Friday) to discuss the proposed MFN status to India was also postponed. The government said it would take up the matter with newly elected government in India after their general elections, scheduled in April.

It was expected that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif likely to announce MFN status to India, however it has again been postponed in view of the upcoming elections in India.
