Deepika and Salman to pair for Sultan?

Isn’t this news too good to be true?

Bollywood’s macho superstar Salman Khan is reportedly going to star alongside leggy lass Deepika Padukone in an upcoming film titled Sultan. Also according to reports, the female lead was offered to Katrina Kaif in the first place but now Deepika has caught the filmmaker’s eyes. If the movie goes to floor with Salman and Deepika as cast members, it will be the first on-screen collaboration between the two.

Deepika Padukone has starred in three films beside Shah Rukh Khan but has yet to star alongside Salman Khan or Aamir Khan. The two Bollywood Khans have also publicly expressed their desire to work with Deepika and praised her acting prowess on more than one occasion. News was also being circulated in the media earlier that Salman and Deepika would play the lead roles in Karan Johar’s Shuddhi, however that never came to happen.

Deepika has yet to star alongside Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan.

Deepika Padukone will be seen in Bajirao Mastani, an upcoming film with actor and her rumored boyfriend, Ranveer Singh. One of the most praiseworthy aspects of Padukone’s acting has been her ability to maintain a perfect chemistry with her co-stars. Deepika’s bonding on-screen with big name actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor have propelled her films to box office successes. Examples include Chennai Express, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Race 2 and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.

Sultan is to be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The filmmakers have refused to comment on these rumors, so all remains to be seen. It has been the dream of every Indian actress to star with the big three Khans of Bollywood; Salman, Shah  Rukh and Aamir. The pleasantly surprising thing about Padukone has been the fact that she has achieved groundbreaking success without starring with the other two Khans, unlike Katrina and Anushka.

Whatever the case, this is going to be one collaboration we will surely be looking forward to!
