Defence Ministry decides for a legal action against Geo TV
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Defence has decided to take a legal action against Geo TV network, for framing serious allegations on the prime intelligence agency of Pakistan – ARY News reports.
According to details, the Ministry of Defence decided to take a legal action over the allegations framed on Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and its Chief, Lieutenant General Zaheer ul Islam, by the Geo TV network.
It was further told that the Defence Ministry has sent notices to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and other concerned institutions in this regard.
Earlier on Saturday, Geo TV network had repeatedly aired the news that the ISI and its Chief is to be held responsible for the assassination attack on Hamid Mir, as the injured journalist had informed his family, peers and the management of the Geo TV, in written about a possible attack on him.
