ABBOTABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that national defence is not possible without a strong economy, democracy and the elimination of terrorism, ARY News reports.
The statement was made during a passing out parade ceremony at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul. Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by the Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif welcomed the Prime Minister when he arrived at the Kakul Military Academy.
Addressing the passing out parade ceremony, Nawaz Sharif said that countless responsibilities rest on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers. "Challenges will come in many different ways", he added.
Prime Minister added that a military job requires sacrifice and loyalty. The military should not forget that the nation stands united with them, he said.
He added that federal government will provide all possible resources for its insurmountable defence.
"Nation knows that Pakistan Army will give big sacrifices with a smile", Nawaz said. "Unity is necessary for achieving national objectives", he added.
