Democracy not providing basic rights should be derailed, says Qadri

LAHORE: Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr Tahir ul Qadri said Monday that the rulers only see the articles following the 40th one, why don’t they look at the preceding articles of the constitution of Pakistan – ARY News reports.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr Tahir ul Qadri said that a democracy that cannot provide basic facilities to the people, should be derailed. He vowed to give representation to laborers, farmers and journalists after a revolution in Pakistan.

Qadri said that the rulers only heed on how a government can be formed or toppled, they only consider a part of the constitution defining these things.

He further said that he does not want to change the date he announced for a revolution in the state.

Moreover, the PAT Chief said democracy only derails when the poor is kept deprived of basic rights.
