Democracy strengthening in Pakistan: Bilawal

OXFORD: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that democracy was strengthening its roots in Pakistan.

Addressing to a gathering of students union in Oxford, Bilawal Bhutto underscored the need for continuity of the democratic system for a stronger Pakistan.

He said that solution of every issue lied in democracy and added that parliament should play its role independently to strengthen democracy in the country.

The PPP leader said that women were playing their role in the country’s development more than that of in the past. He said the government should focus on education, health and unemployment.

Earlier, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said on January 17 that the PPP government would not make any compromise if the democracy was ‘attacked’.

Addressing the National Assembly, Bilawal said it would be a great democracy victory if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government complete their five-year constitutional term.

Talking about the court decision that removed his name from the Exit Control List (ECL), Bilawal said the written verdict of the court was different from the spoken remarks of the chief justice.
