Devotees’ say ‘no’ to terror with defiant dhamaal

SEHWAN: The devotees of the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar answered the attackers with valiant defiance in the form of resuming Sufi ritual of dhamaal at the shrine on Friday, a day after a suicide attack ripped through devotees the worst attack on a shrine in Pakistan.

Around 88 people were killed and several dozens were injured in the worst suicide attack on a Sufi shrine in the country.

The devotees of the shrine next morning rushed in the shrine. The shrine’s caretaker defiantly rang its bell, a daily ritual that he vowed to continue, saying ” we will not bow down to terrorists”.

The devotees had tried to break a security cordon to enter the shrine, saying they would not be deterred by the attack.

The management of the shrine, closed it after prayers, ringing the bell and beating of drums.

Hundreds of the pilgrims, with determination and fearlessness, attended the evening ritual yesterday.
