TOP NEWS

LAHORE: Federal Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq said that the option of dialogue was never used during the rule of un-elected leaders, ARY News reports.

Speaking to media during an inauguration of a new branch of a private bank, Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that certain areas of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have become a hub for criminal elements due to the mistakes committed in the past.

The Federal Railways Minister further said that it is not easy to make peace with militants. "There will be a lot of hurdles during the negotiation process", he added. Khwaja Saad Rafiq said that the government and the state institution made a joint decision for bringing peace in the country through negotiations.

Commenting on the unrest in Balochistan, Khwaja Saad Rafiq stated that the issues of the province will also be resolved via dialogue. He added that the complaints raised by Akhtar Mengal are being heard by the government.

He further added that the issue of Pervez Musharraf is not the only problem of the country. It takes a long time to crush a rebellion and the negotiation process will continue to face hurdles.
