The Sindh High Court bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M. Sheikh conducted the proceedings regarding bail to Dr. Asim and removal of previous investigation officer in the case.
The NAB had requested extension in remand of Dr Asim for 15 days, however the court allowed seven days extension in remand.

Rangers counsel had challenged the appointment of investigation officer Altaf Hussain. The NAB has sought time to file a reply in the regard. The court adjourned the hearing for two weeks.

On December 11, An antiterrorism court (ATC) had handed over PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a seven-day physical remand.
Earlier, DSP Altaf Hussain, who headed investigation into corruption cases against Dr. Asim, said that he had released the former minister as there was insufficient evidence against him.
