MoST drafts a bill to establish Pakistan Halal Authority
ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) has prepared a Bill to establish Pakistan Halal Authority at Federal level to promote trade and commerce in Halal articles and processes, ARY News has learnt.
According to sources the Bill drafted in consultation with stakeholders and it would ensure implementation of uniform Halal standards and soon be submitted to Cabinet for approval.
Meanwhile, the Ministry is also planning to organize Halal Sector DevelopmentExpert Group meeting in the context of D-8 (Developing-8 countries) organizations soon.
Eailer, Pakistan High Commissioner to Malaysia Syed Hasan Raza said Pakistan is capable of playing crucial role in the Halal Food industry so it should strengthen their relations with Malaysia to increase export of Halal meat to Malaysia.
He was speaking at a seminar at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The high commissioner highlighted the potential of fruits and vegetables, readymade garments, Meat and advised to get certification for the export of Halal products from Malaysia.
