ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday said the idea of a Naya Pakistan could not meet success until the society played its role for uplifting the downtrodden people, who were unable to afford their children’s education and healthcare.

President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized on collective efforts for making “Naya Pakistan” where the poor has all the basic facilities, including education and health.

“Education, training and hardworking will contribute in making the ‘Naya Pakistan’ committed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,” he said while addressing 11th Teacher Development Conference in Islamabad.

He regretted that 20 million children were out of school. He said child labour at houses was criminal, and the children working at houses should be admitted to schools.

He expressed hope that the real change would be visible within a couple of years.

Underlining importance of the role of a teacher, the president said it was a teacher who brought major shift in life of students besides imparting knowledge to them.

He said innovation in education was opening new avenues in progress.
