KARACHI: A drunken supporter of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was spotted outside the Karachi’s banking court, during appearance of its leadership in a case related to mega money laundering, on Thursday.

In order to show solidarity with co-chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, a large number of Jiyals and the party supporters reached the court.

Amongst them, a drunken man was also caught on the camera making hue and cry and raising slogans in favor of the PPP leadership.

The man was asked several times by lawyers and security staff to leave the spot, but he refused to leave and kept on raising slogans.

Earlier in the day, the court had extended the interim pre-arrest bail of both the siblings and nine other suspects in a money laundering case till March 5.

Zardari, Talpur and nine other suspects, including former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairman Hussain Lawai, Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed, his son Abdul Ghani Majeed and banker Taha Raza, appeared before the court here as the interim pre-arrest bail granted to them in the money laundering case has ended today.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecutor told the banking court that there was no justification to hear the suspects’ bail pleas.

After hearing the arguments, the court accepted request of Farooq H Naek, the counsel of Zardari and Talpur, for an extension in his clients’ interim pre-arrest bail.
