SSP Korangi said that DSP Faisal Noor was targeted when he was returning after visiting the home of his relative, who was identified as Khalil Ahmed.
The cop said that Noor was targeted by two persons on a motorcycle. He added that the police officer, who was with the DSP at the time of the incident, could not carry out the retaliatory fire.
Noor and his relative were rushed to a medical facility for treatment and were discharged after first-aid treatment.
It is being said that he was shot during a robbery attempt.
