ECC approves Rs 2bn Ramazan package

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Friday approved a Rs 2 billion Ramazan package, ARY News reported.

The approval was given in the ECC meeting presided over by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. Under the Ramazan package, that comes into effect across the country from June 23, 2014, will allow consumers to buy basic commodity items from utility stores on subsidized rates.

Pules, oil, dates and other daily use items during the holy month will be available with Rs 10 discount on each.

Milk and floor will be available at Rs 10 and Rs 6 discount, respectively. The spices will also have 10% percent discount under the Ramazan package.
