ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has decided to buy 8 million tons of wheat and also to lift restrictions on the export of Gem Stones on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of ECC in Islamabad and fixed the wheat procurement targets at 8 million tons.
The committee also decided to extend ban on the import of gold under SRO 760 up to March 31.
However, the committee didn’t come to any conclusion about the salary issue of Pakistan Steel Mills’ workers.
In another meeting with representatives of banks, Ishaq Dar informed that Telegraphic transfer of Rs.6 billion rupees regarding agricultural remittances has been done to the banks while the reaming amount of 3.46 billion will be remitted till March 21.
