ECNEC approves 9 development projects of Rs.324bn

ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved nine development projects worth Rs. 324 billion on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired meeting of ECNEC in Islamabad and approved the development projects related to agriculture‚ education and training‚ health and nutrition‚ energy and water sectors.

The ECNEC approved Rs. 224 billion for Jamshoro Supercritical Units using blends of sub-Bituminous Coal and Domestic Lignite coal fired power project, Rs. 25 billion for PESCO and other electric supply companies to reduce their line losses.

Furthermore, Rs.3 billion has been assigned to increase numbers of teachers in the province of Punjab, Rs. 4 billion for health sector of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On the other hand Rs. 4 billion has been assigned for Qauid-e-Azam Solar Park in Bhawalpur, which would generate 1000 Mega Watts.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minster for planning Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and Chief Ministers of all four provinces.
