ECP decides for an action against those who polled multiple votes

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided for criminal proceedings against the ones who had polled multiple votes in General Elections 2013, while it has also sought different details from election tribunals, in this regard – ARY News reports.

According to details, the echo of opposition parties' protest against rigging, has eventually reached the ECP and it decided to take an action against the ones who had cast more than one vote in General Election 2013. The ECP sought different details including thumbprints, from election tribunals.

Meanwhile, DG ECP, Sher Afgan while briefing the media, said that the ECP decided for criminal proceedings against those who had polled multiple votes.

While issuing the details of political parties registered with the ECP, he said that after the registration of 11 new parties, total number of political parties in Pakistan has now become 281.

Afgan told that with this Pakistan has got the highest number of political parties in the world.
