ECP denies rigging allegations

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday rejected the allegations by former ECP official Afzal Khan in connection to rigging into general elections 2013, ARY News reported.

The ECP, in its meeting, examined the audio evidence of the Khan’s revelations. It was said in a meeting that the ECP has election record and other details to pursue its case.

The meeting said Afzal Khan, former additional secretary ECP, levelled allegation on personal grounds and there were no solid proofs of rigging.

Khan, during his interview in the ARY News program hosted by Mubashir Lucman, had revealed that the elections 2013 were massively rigged and people’s mandate was stolen.

The ECP said there were reports of analysts regarding electoral process.
