ECP seeks Punjab’s help for 2018 elections

LAHORE: Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan has written a letter to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to seek help in arrangements for the general elections of 2018.

The ECP have begun preparations for the polls due after couple of years.

The election commission officials are looking for buildings for polling stations and it urged the Punjab government to cooperate in this regard.

In a letter address to the CM, Mr. Raza said it had been decided that election commission would be equipped with geographic information system for the elections.

The GIS system will help voters easily locate their respective polling stations, he said.

He stated that the ECP was looking to Punjab to deploy its manpower and other resources for the elections.
