ECP releases details of political parties assets

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued details of the assets of the political parties as Pakistan People's Party being the richest party of the country, ARY News reports.

According to the details of the assets of political parties, as revealed by the ECP, ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spent Rs. 560 million in general election held in Pakistan in May, 2013.

The total assets of PML-N have been 50 million rupees, while the party's bank balance has been 558 rupees and Rs. 70,000 cash in hand. The PML-N office in Karachi has a price-tag of Rs. 50 million. 

According to the ECP, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has been the richest political party in the country with 191.158 million rupees in bank account. 

Muttahida Qaumi Movement have 41.012 mln rupees in closing account with overall assets having value of 100.6 million. 

Awami National Party (ANP) has declared assets of over 28 million rupees, while Jamat Islami has revealed that it has assets valuing 4.145 mln rupees.
