Eight Daesh men nabbed in Lahore

LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to arrest eight Islamic State (Daesh) terrorists from Lahore on Thursday, ARY News reported.

According to CTD officials, arrested eight terrorists were trained in Syria and Afghanistan.

“The terrorists were trying to return to Syria, Afghanistan and Iran.” CTD officials further said.

The CTD had recorded their mobile phones for three months before their arrest, officials said.

The department officials said that one of the arrested terrorists identified as Abu Abdullah has been a Daesh commander in Punjab.

A hardened terrorism operative Qari Asif, who is currently operating from Syria, had radicalized the arrested terrorists using social media, officials said.

The arrested men have been shifted to an unknown place and filed a case against them, the officials added.
