Eight killed as flash flood plunges vehicle into ditch

KOTLI, Azad Kashmir : Eight people were killed on Sunday as a flash flood plunged a vehicle into a ditch in Kotli district of Azad Kashmir, ARY News reported.

According to details, Director regional sports Chaudhry Ishaq and planning and development officer along six others were travelling in a jeep in Nikyal Sector.

When they reached near Dhamoi waterfall in Mithrani village a storm erupted in stormwater drain and formed a flash flood that carried away the jeep into the ditch, said police.

Rescue teams reached site of the incident and recovered all eight bodies during the rescue operation assisted by Army personnel.
