KARACHI: Eight persons, including two women, were killed in firing and other violent incidents in Karachi, ARY News reported on Friday.

Police arrested 20 accused including a couple of robbers.

According to police sources, an accused of kidnapping for ransom was killed in police encounter in Surjani Town, while another escaped from the scene.

Police arrested a man and woman red handed while they were robbing people in Gulshan Iqbal block-iv. The arrested couple was identified as Laraib and Afshan. A motorbike, arms and looted cash was captured from the robbers.

In Gulzar Colony area of Korangi dacoits shot dead a woman, Nasreen, when she resisted a dacoity bid.

Three persons were killed in Gulbahar, Old Haji Camp and Golimar areas. A man was killed in firing incident in Qasba Colony, while a dead body found from water nullah near Shah Faisal Colony. A woman succumbed to stabbing wounds in Taimuria police jurisdiction in Nazimabad.

Moreover, CID Police conducted raid in Sohrab Goth and arrested 15 suspects. Another eight suspects arrested from Bilal Colony in Korangi.

Two robbers were also arrested from Chakiwara and Taimuria police jurisdictions.
