LG Polls: Polling for by-elections ends in Punjab, Sindh

LAHORE/KARACHI: Polling for local bodies elections against vacant posts ended in more than 200 union councils of Punjab and Sindh provinces.

Polling started at 07:30 am and culminated at 05:30 pm.

In Punjab, polling was held in UCs of various districts including Toba Tek Singh and Sargodha. While voting is being held in 25 wards of Sindh including Ghotki, Larkana, Shahdatkot, Shikarpur, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Dadu and Sajawal.

The balloting also took place in 13 UCs of Karachi’s Jamshed Town.

The Election Commission says, in a statement, it has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure law and order in and outside the polling stations.

Unofficial results will start pouring in after an hour.
