Election rally: JI to flex its muscles in Karachi today

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami is set to demonstrate its street power today, as part of a by-election campaign in NA-246, traditionally a stronghold of MQM, ARY News reported.

The JI is staging a rally at Shahrah-e-Pakistan near Ayesha Manzil today.

JI chief SIrajul Haq visited the election camp of his party in the constituency and said JI was here to ‘liberate’ Karachi.

JI ready to express Public power in NA 246 today

The jalsa will begin at 6pm which will be addressed by Jamaat leaders, followed by a key speech from party chief Sirajul Haq.

Couple of days ago, activists of MQM and JI clashed near Liaquatabad no.10. The rally of JI was passing near the MQM election camp of the area when both the sides chanted slogans against each other, resulting in violent clash.
