GUJRANWALA: The trial electricity production from the first turbine of Nandipur Power project has been started on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
100 megawatts of electricity will be produced from the first turbine; the transition of gas on the power station is being done by a Chinese company.
Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the turbine on May 31, 2014, after which the regular production will begin. And the next turbine of the project will be inaugurated after 2-month.
Nandipur Power project will produce 425 megawatt of electricity.
In a bid to produce cheap electricity, the government has granted permission to transfer the project from furnace oil to gas.
