Electricity pylon falls down in Dadu, leaves one dead, six injured

DADU: An electricity pylon collapsed near Phulji railway station here on Saturday when installation work of the tower was in progress, leaving a man dead and six others injured, ARY News reported.

According to local sources, an electricity tower of 500KV high-tension transmission line fell down during the installation work near Phulji station in Dadu district leaving an employee of the company dead, while six others sustained injuries.

The dead and injured persons have been shifted to Civil Hospital Dadu for medical attendance, rescue sources said. An injured said to be in a precarious condition.

The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) had energised 500kV Dadu-Guddu transmission line in June 2017.

A spokesman of the company in a statement said that the NTDC engineers and contractors had energised another 500kV Dadu-Guddu transmission line after rehabilitation of seven damaged towers.

The sixteen towers were collapsed in Sindh. “Earlier, the 500kV Jamshoro-Dadu transmission line was energised on May 27 after completing the rehabilitation work on two towers.
