LAHORE: Eleven persons were injured in an explosion at a shop in Ichra area of Lahore, ARY News reports on Friday.
The bomb was planted outside the shop which exploded, creating fear and tension amongst the locals of the area.
Rescue teams arrived at the spot and rushed the injured to Services Hospital for medical attention.
Angry shopkeepers took to the streets and protested against the attitude of Law Enforcing Agencies. The shop owners said that they were receiving extortion letters and calls on a regular basis. They added that they had informed the police about the threats but no security has been provided.
CCPO Lahore Shafiq Gujjar, while visiting the crime scene, said that the nature of the blast can only be estimated after the investigation report is completed. He added that strict action will be taken against the extortionists.
