However, it is not only the movie which fans are looking forward to, but the soundtrack of the film as well. Eminem will executive produce the soundtrack for Southpaw, hence his new song Phenomenal was just a taste of things that are to come. The song begins with Eminem proclaiming the obvious, that he is phenomenal and raps ferociously, targeting his critics and those who wish him ill. In his trademark style, the Detroit rapper goes all out in the song, refusing to back down from any opposition and threatening violence, vengeance on those who try to stop him dead in his tracks. Eminem’s lyrical prowess and high-pitched energetic voice dominate over the heavy beat of drums.

This is not the first time that the Detroit rapper has contributed with a track for a Hollywood flick. He has previously lent his voice for his semi-autobiography film 8 Mile which astoundingly won Eminem an Academy Award. Lose Yourself won Eminem an Oscar and was so popular that it stayed atop the Billboard charts for several weeks. The Detroit emcee released his last album in November 2014 titled The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which charted at number 1 in several countries across the world. The Monster and Rap God were one of the most successful songs of the album.

Eminem is one of the most influential artists of his time and has risen to legendary status. Not only has he contributed to the world of music with several hits but has also helped stablish various artists such as 50 Cent, Yelawolf and Royce Da 5’9. The upcoming soundtrack for the movie is bound to include excellent music!
