A doll made to resemble Emma Watson as Belle in the upcoming film Beauty and the Beast has caused a social media stir after many people said that it looks like Justin Bieber.

A new trailer has been released for the musical film in which we also hear Emma Watson sing, and many fans are intrigued to hear the actress’s vocal abilities.

Shoppers were left in hysterics after spotting the original Disney doll, which drew comparison to the Canadian singer soon after hitting the shelves.

‘When you order an Emma Watson doll online but a Justin Bieber doll in a yellow dress and a wig arrives instead,’ wrote Twitter user Rebekka.

Maryam added: ‘They thought they made a nice Emma as Belle doll but instead they made a Justin Bieber doll.’

Others labelled the doll as ‘horrifying’, ‘tragic’ and even ‘an abomination’, while Sara said she ‘couldn’t stop laughing’.

However, there were several changes made and an artist spent forty hours to transform the Belle doll.

Noel Cruz took the head, cribbed off the original features and repainted it to resemble the British actress. Then, he placed the head on a better proportioned body with a long neck to turn it into a miniature version of Watson.

The custom repaint of the 11-inch tall Disney Store Belle is now being sold in an online auction.

Cruz said he put the repainted head on an alternate body which is more to scale with the size of the head and the neck is better sculpted.

“Overall, I think the alternate body is more visually suitable for the repaint,” he said.

Cruz will now auction the doll currently at $3000 and the successful buyer will have the option to either choose the original or the alternate taller body.

The Bill Condon directed movie is a remake of the 1991 animated musical recreated with live action.

The first teaser broke all viewing records on the day it was as 91 million people watched it in May last year.  The film hits cinemas on March 17.emma2
