PESHAWAR: Engineer Shaukatullah resigned as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday (today), ARY News reports.
Federal Government was considering to change the KP governor for two months. Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had appointed Engineer Shaukatullah Khan on the recommendation of former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in February 2013.
Shaukatullah Khan had succeeded Masood Kausar as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor.
Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi from Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has been nominated for governor KP and will take oath on 10th April. Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi has also served as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 1997 till 1999.
