Ex-Servicemen vow to protect Churches

KARACHI: President of Pakistan Ex Servicemen Association (PESA) General (Retd.) Ali Quli Khan has issued orders to double the security around the churches for Christmas to ensure peace and to avoid any unforeseen event on the occasion, ARY News reports from Karachi.

The decision was taken in a meeting of former military officers. While expressing his grief on the ongoing terror events, he said that it is the duty of every citizen of Pakistan to protect the minorities of the country.

In the meeting, the officials appreciated the steps taken by the ex servicemen to ensure the safety of the churches and took the decision to double the security around the worship places. Two main private security companies, formed by ex-military men, immediately agreed to provide security to the worship places.

Former military experts have said that it is the responsibility of everyone to protect their rights and religious freedom. The meeting asked the Ulemas to come forward and play their role to teach the nation to respect other faiths.
