PESHAWAR: Shamim Kayani, who claims to be the wife of former Federal Minister, Senator Azam Khan Hoti, escaped an assassination attempt near Kamra police check post, while she was on her way to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) – ARY News reports.
According to details, Shamim Kayani after a narrow escape kept taking a refuge in police check post Hattian, along with her driver, for 5 hours.
The assailants fled from the scene, whilst local police refused to submit her application for registering a case.
Officials however received her application upon the arrival of media men and intelligence agencies (IAs) personnel.
Talking to media, Shamim Kayani demanded the authorities to provide her security and to accept her application against her husband and his armed accomplices.
She told about receiving life threats, after which the police received her application, saying that when the official in charge of the check post will come, her case will be registered.
Moreover, Shamim Kayani appealed the Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan to take notice of the incident and order the authorities to provide her security.
