TOP NEWS

Speaking to media, Excise Inspector Najeeb said the confiscated poisonous liquor was being transferred from Lahore to Karachi with a plan of selling it on the occasion of Hindu festival ‘Diwali’. He said it would cause loss of more lives.

He informed that two suspects, a father and a son, who were carrying the liquor were arrested.

Najeeb said the toxic liquor was placed inside the papers with which container was loaded.

It is pertinent to mention that around 32 people were died in Karachi during Eid-ul-Adha after consuming poisonous liquor. A petition was also filed at the Sindh High Court over illegal sale of liquor. Sell of home-made toxic liquor is rampant in outskirt areas including Landhi, Korangi, Quaidabad, Baldia, Sharafi Goth, Sachal Goth and Surjani Town.
